PARIS – WikiLeaks on Tuesday released thousands of CIA documents that were allegedly taken from the Central Intelligence Agency for Cyber Intelligence, a dramatic version that seems to take a look at the intimate details of the cyber espionage toolbox America.
The dump can not be immediately authenticated by The Associated Press and the CIA has refused to comment, but WikiLeaks has a long history of releasing top secret government records. Experts who began filtering the hardware said it seemed legitimate – and that the release was almost certain to shake the CIA documents.
“There is no doubt that the fire drill going on right now,” said Jake Williams, a security expert based in Augusta, Georgia, Rendition Infosecov. “Would not surprise me that there are people changing careers – and ends career -. As we speak”
If he did it prove legitimate, the landfill would be another disastrous violation of the US intelligence community in the hands of WikiLeaks and its allies, who repeatedly humiliated Washington with the mass release of confidential material, including hundreds of thousands of documents from the State Department and the Pentagon.
